SYDNEY, 14 October 2026 – Brightwell Nutrition today announced the Australian launch of AlgaeOmega, a plant-based omega-3 supplement made from microalgae oil, giving people who avoid fish a direct source of EPA and DHA.
Most omega-3 supplements are made from fish oil. Fish actually get their omega-3s by eating algae, so AlgaeOmega skips that step and takes the fatty acids straight from the algae. Each two-capsule serve provides 500mg of combined EPA and DHA.
"Many of our customers follow vegetarian or vegan diets, or simply don't like the aftertaste of fish oil," said Jane Citizen, Head of Product at Brightwell Nutrition. "AlgaeOmega gives them a clean, sustainable option without compromise."
The product is listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and will be available from pharmacies and health food stores nationally from 1 November 2026, with a recommended retail price of $39.95 for a 60-capsule pack.
